Maxus Realty Trust, Inc. is a self-administered and self-managed real estate investment trust (REIT). The Company conducts all of its activities through its subsidiary, Maxus Operating Limited Partnership (MOLP). The Company is primarily engaged in the ownership and acquisition of ownership interests in multifamily apartment communities with investments in a limited number of commercial properties. Its multifamily apartment communities consist primarily of market-rate apartments with rents paid by the residents and include about 11 properties with 2,936 apartment homes. Substantially, all of its assets are comprised of multifamily apartment communities. The Company also owns a limited number of commercial properties. The commercial real estate operations consist of four properties with approximately 390,000 square feet consisting of 55 retail and office tenants. MOLP directly or indirectly owns interests in other limited liability companies or partnerships.
