      1632 ET - Mergers and acquisitions involving Mexican companies totalled $2.99 billion across 30 transactions last month, far more than the $167 million across 20 deals recorded in June of last year, according to 414 Capital, an investment bank in Mexico City. América Móvil's $1.16 billion deal to acquire additional 41% of Chilean mobile-services provider ClaroVTR accounted for most of the increase in total deal value. The transaction gives América Móvil, the telecommunications company controlled by Mexican billionaire Carlos Slim, a 91% stake in ClaroVTR. Despite the jump in June, deal value in Mexico totalled only $5.98 billion during 1H, roughly 52% less than $12.4 billion in the same period of last year, 414 Capital's data show.
