0259 GMT - Trip.com's share-price correction seems to be overdone, Citi analysts say in a research note. The online travel agency's share price has fallen around 10% over the past week given the Chinese hotel industry's weak performance at the start of the summer break, Citi says. The analysts attribute the weaker performance to greater hotel supply, inclement weather and more high-end demand diverted to outbound travel. However, they think there is no material downside in 3Q for Trip.com and still expect decent upside potential to FY earnings, which could support the stock. Citi keeps a buy rating on the stock with a target price of $66.00. The ADRs last traded at $45.36, while its Hong Kong-listed shares are 3.5% higher at HK$356.20. (tracy.qu@wsj.com)

0311 GMT - Trip.com is likely to benefit from strong travel demand in China, Daiwa analyst John Choi says in a research note. Choi thinks China's outbound travel volume in 2Q fully recovered to 2019 levels, with the Labor Day holiday volume in May up 20% from 2019. Looking ahead, travel demand from the "silver"generation, typically referring to individuals aged 50 and above, is likely to help the company to generate more revenue in the next 1-3 years, with Choi saying the segment has been underestimated by investors. Daiwa forecasts Trip.com's 2025 revenue growth at 56%. Daiwa keeps a buy rating on the stock with a target price of HK$653.00. Shares are 0.3% higher at HK$386.20. (tracy.qu@wsj.com)
