  1209 ET - The Air Force decision to almost halve its planned buy of Boeing's MH-139A Grey Wolf helicopter to 42 triggers a critical Nunn-McCurdy breach, signaling cost growth of 25% or more. The Grey Wolf, derived from a Leonardo chopper, will be used to protect the missile fields on the Great Plains. Cutting the number of units inflates the price of each one. The breach -- hot on the heels of one affecting Northrop Grumman's Sentinel ICBM program -- requires the Air Force to decide whether it will continue the program, cancel it or change the existing plan.
